Location
Brodnica is one of the most beautiful cities in Poland that spreads on the Vistula River in the north-eastern part of the Kujawy and Pomerania voivodeship. It is geographically interlinked with Chełminskie and Masurian Lake Districts and functions as an administrative and cultural centre of the historical region referred to as the Michałowska District. It is situated at the crossroads of the most important routes connecting Germany with East and Scandinavia with the South. Both road and rail transport communications, central position in the region, and two landscape parks beautified by the meandering water highway of the Drwęca River make investments easier and offer tourist facilities for those wishing to visit places that lie in the vicinity of the city or are located further away.

Economy
The city is characteristic for its vigorous and fast growing economy. The following branches of industry have been expanding most rapidly: motorcar, timber, clothing, furniture, confectionery, paper processing, agricultural and food, as well as production of dressing materials. Apart from home assets, enterprises with the participation of foreign capital are of importance in economy stimulation. The already established local enterprises neither exploit economic opportunities nor reduce economic needs of the town. Brodnica is open to any proposals new investors come forward with. They, in turn, may count on full technical and urban infrastructure. The city authorities are eager to establish cooperation directed at the development of construction industry, commerce, services and industry based on clean technologies. Technical infrastructure investments were made with the special emphasis laid on proecological economy, which opened possibilities of economic expansion without disturbing biological balance. Business environment institutions such as the Brodnica Economic societies, banks, pension scheme funds, Tax Office, the Social Security Agency, the Poviat Labour Office, customs station, local press, etc. Operate successfully in Brodnica.
